I wasn't at that meeting and I don't know anyone who was.........

Mark, Greg and Co are usually very punctual with this stuff but somehow I guess they forgot to tell us......."Stand up Troman, Stand up Powell - just why were you not at this meeting???????" Because, I bet no-one told them......

Given that my requests to the IPDC are marked "urgent overnight" and get a response time that varies from 10 mins to the following day or never, I can't see that putting "vulnerable" on it will make much difference.

What these klutzes don't admit is that it can take 2 hours to get an overnight listed by the court given current shortages with staff and most vulnerable Defs have to see the MH worker, who, justifiably takes a few hours to liase with local Medical staff to prepare a report. Then my case is shuffled to Court 4 to 'get it on quicker ' and then it takes 15 mins for the CPS to transfer the file to an agent in court 4 and then they take 10 minutes to read it and then the Deputy DJ insists on reading all of the papers before coming into court and then SERCO take 15 minutes to bring the Def up because they are short of staff. That's an hour from me telling them I am ready.

This is blame shifting as usual. Make it a protocol, that will sort it out.........

I do this anyway if only because the vulnerable Defs are the ones who usually complain most and, compassion aside it makes my life easier. I suspect everyone else is the same

Whilst I have no issue with what this was agreed - I would like to know with whom this agreement was reached?

Were the defence community consulted or do the police, the Crown and the Courts now just decide what we do??

So my question - "Agreed" by whom?

Good morning

HMCTS have asked that we forward the attached document to all duty solicitors on the London court schemes.  It relates to an agreed process which was introduced in the London Magistrates Courts back on the 6th of August 2018.

Kind regards
