East London based Duty Solicitors have been experiencing exactly the same problems since the permanent closure of Ilford PS in May last year. The Redbridge 24 hour scheme still exists, which covered Ilford.

07949243949I would say that the DSCC policy is the opposite of this β they do not ask where cases originate. The same is true of the police β this is simply not on their radar.
Richmond cases are dealt with at Wandsworth and I canβt recall the last time we had a call on the Richmond rota β this is now a dead scheme.

This should not still be happening.
It was raised by the LCCSA with the LAA in respect of Wimbledon (and Harrow) and we were told that the LAA has spoken to the DSCC and confirmed that they ask custody staff where the arrest originated, and there are follow up questions to find the correct location if custody staff are unsure. They have also spoken to the Met DCI and to custody leads in both areas who were issuing a reminder that if an arrest originates for example in Wimbledon then a Wimbledon solicitor should be requested.
I note you say it is a theory. If there is any suggestion that the practice is continuing can you let me know and I will go back to the LAA.

There is a similar issue with detainees from Wimbledon being reported to the DSCC as Wandsworth πππ

There was a consultation that decided the scheme would continue and the Police would be asked by all detainees at Colindale and Wembley in which borough the arrest took place.

I know Harrow Police station now shut , however like others am still on 24 hour rota for Harrow . I believe Harrow detainees go to Colindale but there is a theory that all Harrow calls are treated by police / call centre as being part of Barnet Scheme thus making this rota redundant . Any views please ?
