Yes, I once spent £200 on a day return to Bristol for a hearing that would have paid about £100, left at crack of dawn, when I arrived (on time) the hearing had been adjourned because “adverse weather conditions” (a bit of snow) meant that the prosecutor (local) and some court staff couldn’t get in.
Hence I find myself forevermore unavailable for a committal for sentence in Bristol, unless privately paying including travel :(
