This happens a lot in other areas as well where the boroughs have been merged.

One example is that I was on duty last week at Wembley Police Station as Harrow Duty. I got one from it, which was a 2 handed case. I spoke to the other suspects solicitor who was Wembley duty and picked up the co-suspect. Both had been arrested in Harrow and therefore the case had been incorrectly given to the Wembley duty.

There is no consistency. Training for DDO’s and DSCC needs to be much improved as the work is not being allocated correctly. The issue is that no-one really cares as long as the work is being covered by any duty solicitor.

The situation improved when some of us complained, but seems to have deteriorated again. They appear to put most Holborn jobs through to the HC duty irrespective of where the offence occurred.

I have been on Islington this evening and took two cases at Holborn , two at Islington and two at brewery Rd.
I asked the Dscc why the ones at Holborn came to me and they said oh they always ask which borough .
The OIC for one of the Holborn matters just rang me and said the offence happened on Oxford street.

I know this has been happening a lot and I have had some very quiet Clerkenwell and Hampstead duties lately , but this is so obviously not an Islington job
