Subject: The Unfairness of the Preparation for Effective Trial Form (PET)
To: LCCSA <admin@lccsa.org.uk>

Re ; previous convictions.

The Court hearing the trial study the PET Form before the trial.

The question does the Crown intend to rely on bad character is prejudicial.
If answered yes on the form and no notice of bad character is served this really smells.

If answered no, it suggests there are previous convictions but they do not go through any of the gateways.

The Crown know the law they do not need to be prompted by this question.

The other deadly question is, are the previous convictions agreed.

If it's not a bad character case with a bad character notice served, then the Trial Court have no business knowing about this. It distracts them from the real evidence in the trial

I call for the PET Form to remove these blatantly unfair questions.

Richard
