Hi Rakesh,

We had that problem for a few months this year, while Ilford was closed and re-located to Barking & Dagenham custody.   But they seemed to have corrected it towards the end, and now Ilford is back open.  I noticed though, when on Ilford duty in the week of 2nd September, that cases that had originated from Bethnal Green came to me.  I realise that that was a one off as Bethnal Green was temporarily out of use and had not re-located to Ilford.

One other thing.  The new band of DSCC bods have chosen to send a fuller text notification, which is fair enough.  The only thing is that for Leyton Custody, they are giving the address for the old Leyton Police station which is probably now a block of luxury flats (I don’t know, I haven’t been there for more than 20 years).  Point is, if they are making such basic errors in their data awareness, then what other errors are they making?

Regards,

Subject: DSCC calls - temporary police station closures

Dear Members,

The LCCSA are meeting with the LAA to discuss the allocation of police station duty work when police stations close and/or move temporarily.

If you have any recent experiences of problems following the (temporary) relocation of a police station can you email me directly and let me know.  This can include being allocated work that is not normally within the catchment, as well as a complete drop off in duty calls following a move.

Thanks
