Dear Judge Coleman

I am sure that the members will join me in wishing you a happy and long retirement .

We would like to thank you for being supportive of the profession and association over the many years you have sat on the bench , and indeed as an active committee member whilst in practice.

Your presence, be it adjudicating complex extradition matters or  trying to bring  a degree of efficiency to the remand lists , will be missed .

We hope that you haven’t spent the last two years inundated with emails requesting agents to  “cover” matters  in your court , and will remove you from the list upon request .

I am sure that the valedictory will be very well attended and thank you for the notification so that those who wish to attend can make diary adjustments .

With best wishes on behalf of the committee

Kind regards

Jonathan Black

Subject: Retirement.

Dear LCCSA members,

After 41 years practising law, of which 39 of them were as a member of the LCCSA, I am retiring at the end of this month.

Some of the older members will remember my time on the LCCSA committee. I have had a fulfilling and interesting career and have enjoyed every day of it.  I can’t say I especially relished dragging myself out of bed to go to police stations in the middle of the night, nor did I get overexcited  dealing with police officers coming to my home in the middle of the night for search warrants! That past of the work I will not miss, but the rest I probably will.

The LCCSA does great work. To ensure it continues to pack a punch politically, it  is so important to maintain your profile and maintain your standards professionally and  as advocates in Court. Be ready, be prepared and look smart. It makes such a difference.

I hope all of you enjoy a varied, interesting and enjoyable career, as I have.

My colleagues are holding a valedictory for me on Friday 27th September at Westminster Court at 9.30am  in Court 1.  Do join me if you are local.

With my best wishes,

Yours sincerely,

Margot Coleman.
