So this is a VERY common problem, I find that Egress is a very complicated system and people don't know (because they have not been shown) how to SHARE a folder. As Counsel I always have this problem!

Egress is such a poor system, that is why the CPS is phasing out its use. And yes the CPS refuse to invite Counsel - they say the solicitor has been incited so its up to you!

1. Firstly - you CANNOT for some reason share the main folder. You need to go to the folders/data within it.

2. You need to log in yourself to the file on Egress.

3. The hover your mouse here until you see SHARE pop up:

4. Click the icon when you see SHARE.

5. You will then see this screen:

6. Enter the CJSM email of the person you want to share it with. BE CAREFUL - the system does NOT cross-check emails to users. If it is wrong, the user will not get invited!

7. The press SHARE -

8. The person does NOT get notified of the share (!) so you need to tell them to log into Egress and they should be able to see it.

My instructed counsel is happily invited on to the CCDCS but when uploading some Egress multi media evidence the CPS have omitted defence counsel from the invitation to view the it.

I have asked the CPS to correct this by inviting him to view the link and they have refused because of “data protection”?????

Cannot really see any sense in that position as counsel is invited on to CCDCS and has access to every other bit of evidence but still, ours not to reason why and the PTPH is coming up soon.

I cannot actually see how I invite my counsel to view the Egress/add him to the parties it is shared with.

Can anyone enlighten me please?
