Hi,
The LAA have been doing this to practitioners undertaking appeal and CCRC work since 2014. Often over ruling grants of public funding that had been made several years earlier and then clawing back thousands, in some cases £100,000’s of costs long claimed and paid, and which included many thousands of pounds paid out by solicitors in disbursements and counsel’s fees that in appeal work are also paid out of the solicitors costs.
Have known the LAA to back down when told we would be applying for a “ point of principle “

Subject: Look at what LAA are doing now!! Granted it, we had the hearing and now a month later are saying it is REFUSED!
Can CLSA or LCCSA take this issue up with the power that’s be? We cannot have LA pulled a month after it was granted because someone decides it shouldn’t have been granted when we have instructed and paid an agent already!
This is outrageous behaviour – all trust now gone!
