On behalf of the committee please do continue to report problems on this forum.  I don’t see it as grumbling; but let’s be honest we all like to get things off our chest and that is fine.

As Maggie suggests, as well as telling us it takes 2 seconds to cut and paste the text to the generic court inbox marked FAO of the court manager, or for legal issues the chief clerk.  They do get through.  We need your help with this side of things.  So cleaning advocates rooms is not something we need to argue in principal, it something that should be done and they need to be told when and where it is not being done.

We as an association can and do put your anecdotal reports to the management of HMCTS London and throughout this year they have proven they will act on it.  I had the court lists at Willesden moved 10 feet away from security gates to create space. If it is practical it will change.

Im afraid we just don’t matter.  We have no political muscle and we tend to just moan and grumble rather than formally complain.  If you are willing to attend courts and work under those conditions they will do nothing.

They just want you to attend court shut up and help them get through the backlog.

There is no point in writing about the issues amongst ourselves we all know there are issues.

I have written to the LCCSA and Law society.  Now that solicitors are meekly attending court there is no reason for them to fix anything.

It is pointless raising the issues with the courts are they are so proud of how they have introduced so much to help with Covid 19.

There is nothing you can do as individuals, there is not enough solicitors bothered by the conditions and so I am afraid nothing will be done.

I wish you all the luck in the world in sorting this out.

Best Wishes

Everywhere the same  I suspect.

I just filled in the law society survey and used the “ anything else you would like us to consider” question at the end to have a rant about how  covid unsafe court is for the users.

I made the point, amongst others, that the only outside door handles were wiped, which is clearly ridiculous.

Also …out of interest…how many courts other than Bromley only have cold water for you to wash your hands?

How many courts provide no drinking water whatsoever now?

Frankly if my local independent travel agent can put up a screen or two at her desk even as she goes bust you would have thought the MOJ might have put something in place for us in an interview room...because they certainly expect us to be fully prepared and armed with instructions to progress the case on the first appearance.

If every shop up and down the land can provide santising gel as you walk in why is the gel at court kept out of reach to all but the clerk and the bench? It should be on dispensers outside every court room door?

I absolutely include myself in this...but why have we all become such wet blankets too feeble to protect ourselves and our families when we carry God knows what home?

Oh no…do not bother answering that last one I know the answer …we are both too cowed by the need to scrape a living and afraid of the next guy who will pick off our client’s if we try any form of protest.

Nearest the cleaner got was outside the door (as I saw her) the dust build up in the room, made it clear that nobody had dusted for a while...
