Please could anyone assist in clarifying whether we can instruct an expert privately because the Client's family are willing to pay for a second expert report. 

I have a client who is currently not happy with a psychiatric report obtained under prior authority on fitness to plead.

Hence his family are willing to pay for a second report by another psychiatrist. 

Client is in custody and their is a representation order in place.
