The Resident Judges at the local CC are the leverage point.  If enough firms ask them to intervene they will request a meeting with the governor.  Particularly if it delay’s hearing and trials.

We meet with the head of London Ops for HMPPS, but this prison is out of region.

I will make prisoner access a key issue out meetings with judiciary and stakeholders.

Kind regards,

We are having a similar experience at HMP Chelmsford with a rather large encro-chat case.

Waited ages, only to get the visit finally confirmed today for a face to face visit on 21 September ( we had been asking for 14 September).

This is no good for me because the client in question has his PTPH the day before, on 20th September!

Not that it matters anyway, because the CPS of course still haven’t uploaded their case papers!!

Hey ho…. let’s hope we have an understanding judge next week.

Good afternoon,

Has anyone had any success with booking legal visits at Chelmsford prison recently?

If so, please share.

We have experienced a hiatus for about 3 weeks.

Kind regards.
