This is the same situation that we had on the 22nd of March 2020. That was a more anxious time but the lack of uniform knowledge is a concern.
Last Saturday I had a client who needed an interpreter and the detention officer said the custody officer had decided that there are no longer remote interviews.
(In the event ,I decided to attend when I received the pre-interview disclosure as the allegation was much more serious than the ABH that the client was arrested for)
I attended and along with the interpreter, there was the client ,myself and the officer. 4 people milling about first in corridor which was 1 metre wide. Then into a room which was 1.5 metres wide by 2 metres long.
Fortunately the client was soft spoken and well behaved. There were a number of flaws in the safety aspect:-
1. The protocol is not widely known(In this case ,no one)
2. Guidance given is not in accordance with the protocol
3. Masks not worn(again as the law is clear and that is everyone can use their common sense- what is the point in having a government?)
4. 4 people crammed into a space 1.5 x 2 metres is clearly unacceptable

For the sake of absolute clarity what does the LCCSA suggest is the definition of covid 19 safety within a police station?
Exactly what PPE should we expect to be afforded to us?
Because if it is mask wearing, keeping 2m distance and not sitting in unventilated rooms at close quarters for any length of time then I suspect the LCCSA already know finding a station that complies will be the real challenge.
So please advise what measures you think are or should be in place for us and I will happily report back to you with chapter and verse when that is not met.
