Means-tested CRM1/2 is always available but is swallowed up in the Police Station Fee.
Pre-charge engagement within its limits relating to assisting the police enquiry is available in all cases, is not means-tested and is additional to fixed fee.
The vast majority of cases will realistically be private or pro bono.

Subject: Query regarding consultations post arrest
Dear members,
Just wanted to check whether there are any provisions for payment in respect of consultations in respect of a client that has been arrested and then released either bailed
or released under investigation and whether payment can be sourced from the legal aid agency or can a request for private payment from the client be made?
Any guidance would be welcomed.
Many thanks
