Hello all,
We have also been told by DWP that they will no longer provide NINO’s
I have emailed the DWP Operations Leader to ask why this has suddenly changed since we have been doing this for years.
They initially told us that we should use
Find your National Insurance number - GOV.UK
I responded saying that is an online service for clients to personally access which is impossible if, like most of our clients, they are in custody, homeless or have no internet access!
They responded that they were liaising with HMRC and would hopefully be able to provide an update in due course.
I have also raised it with our Contract Manager who is looking into it so perhaps if other members do this also we may be able to obtain a fix.
Kind regards
Theresa

Subject: National Insurance Number
Good afternoon All
Does anyone know how to find out a client’s national insurance number?
We used to contact the DWP, but they’ve now informed us that they are no longer allowed to disclose it to us, and we have to go through HMRC.
They’ve suggested using the CA5403 form, which apparently has to be posted.
I’m hoping someone here might know of a quicker way.
Thank you
Monika Wesolowski
