I am seeking the opinion of
solicitors/police station reps and barristers who regularly
attend magistrates courts and police stations. As you know
many of us are extremely busy and cannot find cover for
various hearings/police stations which may be some distance
away or even locally. I am developing a website and an app
which the solicitors across the country can log into and check
who is at a particular court/police station to save time in
finding cover. This is only possible if solicitors/police
station reps/counsel are willing to sign up to this scheme. I
intend to list all the police stations and courts and members
can the upload their details on the app/website to advise
everyone as to their availability. There will also be a
section to advise what type of hearing they are covering if it
is matter in the magistrates court, i.e. if they are doing a
trial then they may not be available to cover a hearing.
Similarly for the police stations. I know there is a website
called police station reps which has the numbers of solicitors
and reps who are close to the vicinity but it does not tell
you who is available. This again will save time if members can
quickly let it be known that they are available to cover and
in what area and if they are available. This will require some
input from everyone to keep the website/app information in
real time. We all know time is money and I am trying to make
life easy as possible, as I know I have spent on occasions
hours to find cover.
Any suggestions will be gladly appreciated.
