We always attend the Police Station preferentially for the hearing rather than the Court so as to be able to complete legal aid if appropriate and have no restriction on
consultation time.
Most firms will have seen a big drop in slots recently as they are not being allocated to individual Solicitors rather than the firms. More slots for BFG but less for us
humble minions.

I got told this yesterday by someone else when I was already at the court and after I had called the court to ask what the arrangement was and they said I had to attend and wait for cases! So, if
they tell you this, don't listen. Plus, it turns out the police don't have the spare resources to do VCs at the moment, so you won't get called in all likelihood anyway. They are simply wasted slots.
Grrr.

Standby. It's fixed fee per case. No hourly rate and will be called in if required.

We have a couple of slots this time around – can anyone tell me whether they are paid on a court duty basis or police station basis? ie should my solicitors attend the relevant court and expect to be remunerated under the scheme for doing so irrespective of the number of VC clients, or should they be on standby to attend when/if they receive a call?
Thanks in advance
