Dear Members,
Can anyone spare a few moments to assist Mr Mason’s research into digital evidence in child sex abuse cases? Details below:
Mark Troman
Dear Mr Meisels,
I wonder if you can help me.
I have done a lot of work educating judges and lawyers across the EU in electronic evidence with the Academy of European Law since they discovered it was an important topic [our first event, which I organized with ERA was in 2011 in Barcelona].
Presently we are mid-way through a 2-year 6-seminar project with the title 'The life cycle of electronic evidence', and I am writing a report at the end of it [future sessions on the front page of my web site].
Our next session is in Trier, 19-20 February 2018
I am giving the following talk: How legal practitioners (prosecutors, defence lawyers and judges) deal with electronic evidence in criminal proceedings: an overview with sample cases where child sexual abuse materials are involved
Given that I have no experience in this area, I would like to speak to and obtain pointers from all involved: police, CPS, defence solicitor and barrister and prosecution barrister. Might you, or if you cannot, might you know of somebody that will be able to
advise me from the defence point of view?
Any help will be most appreciated, as you can imagine.
Sincerely,
Stephen Mason
