Dear members,

Following the Liam Allen case the CPS made a statement promising to review 600 current sex cases to ensure disclosure was adequate.

BBC Panorama plan to produce a program examining the problems in the CJS and these issues.  A producer has asked me to enquire if anyone has a case which has been reviewed by the CPS and whether it has led to any significant action, such as a discontinuance / offering no evidence, a delay to trials, a release on bail etc.

If that applies to you or a colleague please get in touch.  I think it is in the interests of our clients, that a spotlight is shone on the manifest failures in disclosure which we have experienced for years.

Kind regards,

Mark Troman
