Sentencing guidelines for the Crown Court go online

The Sentencing Council has publishing all sentencing guidelines that are used in the Crown Court in a fully digital format. Previously available only in print or pdf, the digital guidelines are now available on a dedicated, Crown Court area of the Council’s website: https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/crown-court/.

With the move to digital, the offence-specific and overarching-principle sentencing guidelines are now available in a format that is immediately accessible, quick and easy to use, and designed to support the ways in which judges and legal professionals work with the guidelines. The Council has consulted judges, prosecutors and defence practitioners in the design of the digital guidelines. It will continue to welcome feedback from users to help refine and develop them, before it ceases publication of the print and pdf versions in 2019.
