As a result of the recent correspondence with the MoJ about overnight cases for vulnerable clients, the LCCSA have been invited to take part in a project meeting this Friday morning.

I will be attending on behalf of the committee and would welcome examples of difficulties you have had dealing with vulnerable clients appearing overnight in custody at individual courts - for example, late service of papers by the CPS, lack of information (or delays in obtaining the same) from police station mental health teams, court mental health teams and YOT about vulnerabilities and care and support already in place or available to clients.

Please do include your experiences in youth court cases as these are often ignored in these exercises.

Examples of good practice in particular Magistrates/Youth Courts would, of course, also be very welcome.
