Alternatively a second fee on the basis you have made unsuccessful enquiries as to whether the threats to kill matter was effective.

Not the original question but that would justify a new reference number for threats to kill.

Obviously better if you can justify it getting a new DSCC reference for the drugs' appointment as leaves open the possibility of a third fee.

Sorry. I misread and thought you were attending for the threats to kill.

Looking at it again, it will depend on whether the drugs appointment is a series of offences. If it relates to an appointment made because of the original PWITS offence, then even if he had been re-interviewed it would not attract a second fee. If it relates to a completely different arrest, then you have a basis to claim a second fee as an abortive interview attendance for a matter not arising from the same circumstances.

No reason why not. Attended in good faith so POP DS4 applies. In any event attendance for charge alone generates second fee.

Now we get DSCC references ourselves from the website, no need to worry about conversations with DSCC staff explaining what happened. Just a file note to justify if audited.

Dear All,

Can someone advise me if I can claim a 2nd fee in this scenario.

On 16/2/19 I went to the City on a duty case . The call out was for drugs with intent. At the station a second matter was raised. This was threats to kill , a met case. I didn't log a new number that case with DSCC. He was bailed back to the City.

I returned there this morning. I had been told before that he would be charged with possession and interviewed for failing to keep a drugs appointment. There was no info re the met case.

By the time we saw the officer he had decided not to take any action on the failed appointment and he was simply charged on drugs possession. Still no info from the met.

Had it been the threat to kill that continued today I would apply for a new number and bill a second fee. Can I still get a second number ?

Ed Atkinson
