I know there have been a number of emails about booking legal visits at Wandsworth. I have been trying to book a visit since 18th August 2020 on the VCC email. 4 emails have been sent which were unanswered until this morning.

I have cut and pasted the response to take out confidential material so members can see the position.

Good morning Lindsey,

At the moment we receive around 100 emails with requests every day. We are booking the oldest first and slowly moving to recent dates. Unfortunately video link is not always supplied staff to reply to emails, so you can imagine that after one day we are 100 emails behind.

I believe one of my colleagues finished emails from Monday, so if the request was sent on Tuesday, solicitors should expect to be answered within 3 days.

Looking at our figures from last month we did nearly 1500 video links, that gives around 75 video links every day, sometimes even more. This is the busiest in the country.

I am really sorry you and your colleagues could not book anything with us. I understand sometimes emails get lost or missed, so please re-send all your requests to VCCWandsworth@justice.gov.uk and someone will get back to you. At the moment we are fully booked for about 4 weeks.

Hi Pamela,

Is there a policy at the moment not to book visits at Wandsworth ? I have been trying for weeks and I know colleagues from other firms are in the same position.
