Dear all

I am interested in people’s views if the bar vote to reject their deal. Hopefully this exchange can be conducted in a measured friendly way as a no vote will affect us all.

At the recent CBA meeting little or no mention was made of the effect on solicitors and clients of a no vote.

My understanding of the sticking points in the deal are a) no 25per cent rise and b) the nature of the body set up re future review of payments ie they wanted an independent review board for pay.

My own view is a) is unrealistic and b) is worth fighting for.

Others may have different views. I am concerned though of the effect on our firms of the continuing action. Even if we all said we were not going to support the action I doubt we could cover all crown court work between us but we are more than a bit part in this action and I am interested in the views of others.

Thanks

Paul
