Re: Community Care / Public Law Matter; Referral Enquiry
JDS Solicitors 02 Apr 2026 13:39 BST
Dear Colleagues,
I am enquiring whether any firm has capacity to take on an urgent
community care / public law matter.
Summary:
Vulnerable adult with complex needs (severe seizures, dissociative
disorder, suspected autism, OCD, and eating difficulties), currently
without appropriate care or treatment and unsuitable for general needs
housing.
There is a written refusal decision, with concerns including:
Failure to meet needs under the Care Act 2014
Potential absence/unlawful withdrawal of s.117 aftercare under the
Mental Health Act 1983
Deterioration in condition and emergency services involvement
Clinical evidence supports the need for specialist provision.
Likely to require urgent pre-action steps and consideration of interim
relief. Legal aid may be available.
Please let me know if you have capacity and I can provide further
details.
Kind regards,
