The agents I use usually ask if they can increase if it’s a particularly long or difficult matter I agree to add £20 , but I’ve never had an agent just add an amount on. As you say the majority of police station matters are quick and they don’t take £40 off if they are only there 10 mins!

Finished in 3 hours (which included disclosure, instructions and no comment interview).  Agent has added an extra £40 to the invoice on the basis, only told about one offence but there ended up being many more.

My view – there isn`t a different rate, unless pre-agreed.  The fee for spending 3 hours is the weigh off for the same fee for spending half an hour.  Whether it`s one allegation or 10, it can take the same time, particularly if it`s all the same complainant.

Am I being unreasonable?
