prosecution use of Find My Phone App evidence Simon Tierney 13 Mar 2018 12:31 GMT

Robbery victim uses this app to track her mobile

She goes on drive around with police whilst friend communicates
locations of phone to her (via another mobile) using her laptop & app login

Crown case involves relating CCTV of suspect at multiple locations to
locations of phone given by the app

http://findmyphoneapp.com/

depending on local conditions (transceivers, wifi) it would appear the
accuracy of location information given by the app can vary

Crown's evidence as presently served seems rather anecdotal to me:

no expert statement or explanation of how app works / worked in this case,

Just OIC producing a number of maps that look like from google maps
purporting to show (timed) locations of phone generated by app

How has Crown presented this type of evidence in cases that other
members have dealt with?

Any information, suggestions, warnings about potential technical issues?
